Our exploration begins in the vibrant Plaza de Armas, the historic center of Cusco, where Inca foundations meet Spanish colonial architecture. Here, we visit the awe-inspiring Cusco Cathedral, a masterpiece of Baroque art housing priceless treasures, including a unique Andean interpretation of the “Last Supper.” Next, we step into the sacred Qorikancha, the Temple of the Sun, a testament to Inca engineering and spirituality. This site, once adorned with gold, now reveals the harmonious blend of Inca and colonial construction, as the Convent of Santo Domingo was built atop its ruins.

Leaving the city center, we venture to the surrounding hills to explore four remarkable archaeological sites. First, we visit Sacsayhuamán, a colossal fortress with massive stone walls that defy time and logic. Then, we explore Qenqo, a mysterious labyrinth of tunnels and altars used for rituals. Our journey continues to Puka Pukara, a military outpost with panoramic views, and concludes at Tambomachay, a serene sanctuary dedicated to water worship. As we return to Cusco, you’ll carry with you a deeper understanding of the city’s dual heritage.
