We depart Cusco early and drive through the scenic landscapes of the South Valley, passing traditional villages and herds of alpacas and llamas. After approximately 3 hours, we arrive in Cusipata, where we enjoy a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the hike.

From there, we continue to the trailhead at Phulawasipata. The hike to Rainbow Mountain takes approximately 3 hours, passing through rolling hills, grasslands, and small streams. As we ascend, the air becomes cooler, and the landscape transforms, revealing the vibrant hues of Vinicunca. The final stretch is the most challenging, but the reward is worth it: panoramic views of the Rainbow Mountain and the surrounding snow-capped peaks.

At the summit, you’ll have time to rest, take photos, and marvel at the natural beauty of this unique geological formation. After soaking in the scenery, we begin our descent and return to Cusipata for a well-deserved lunch. Finally, we drive back to Cusco, arriving in the late afternoon, filled with a sense of accomplishment and unforgettable memories.
